Wetter Lengenfeld unterm Stein is a municipality in the district of Eichsfeld in Thuringia, Germany. It is located approximately 12 kilometers southwest of Heiligenstadt, and has a population of around 1,200. The municipality is situated in the Hainich-Dn region, and is known for its beautiful scenery and hiking trails.
Wetter Lengenfeld unterm Stein has a long and rich history, dating back to the Middle Ages. The first recorded mention of the village was in 1143, and it was granted town rights in 1239. The town was once a center of trade and commerce, and was home to a number of important merchants and craftsmen. However, the town’s fortunes declined in the 16th century, and it was largely destroyed during the Thirty Years’ War. Wetter Lengenfeld unterm Stein was rebuilt in the 17th century, and it has since become a popular tourist destination.
