Wetter Karlstein am Main is a municipality in the Main-Kinzig district, in Hesse, Germany. It is located on the river Main, approximately 20 km southeast of Frankfurt am Main. The municipality has a population of around 8,000 people and is known for its beautiful scenery and its historical significance.
The town of Karlstein am Main was first mentioned in a document in 1128. It was founded by Count Karl von Hanau, who built a castle on the site of the present-day town. The town grew in importance over the centuries and became a center of trade and commerce. In 1815, it became part of the Grand Duchy of Hesse.
