Jane Wilde (1821-1896) was an Irish writer and poet, best known as the wife of the Irish writer Oscar Wilde.

Born Jane Francesca Elgee in Dublin, Ireland, she married Oscar Wilde in 1884. The couple had two children, Cyril and Vyvyan. Jane Wilde was a talented writer and poet in her own right, and she published several works under the pseudonym “Speranza”. Her work was often political and feminist in nature, and she was a strong advocate for Irish independence.
