Wetter Kirchdorf an der Iller is a municipality in the district of Biberach in Baden-Wrttemberg in southern Germany. It is situated on the river Iller, which forms the border with Bavaria. As of 31 December 2019, the municipality has a population of 2,259.
The municipality was first mentioned in 1093 as “Chirichdorf”. The name is derived from the Old High German words “chiricha” (church) and “dorf” (village). The village was probably founded in the 8th century by Alemannic settlers. In the 13th century, Kirchdorf came under the rule of the Counts of Kirchberg. In 1387, the village was sold to the Free Imperial City of Ulm. Ulm ruled Kirchdorf for over 400 years. In 1803, Kirchdorf became part of the Kingdom of Wrttemberg.
