Albinism is a rare genetic condition that affects the production of melanin, the pigment that gives color to the skin, hair, and eyes. People with albinism have very little or no melanin, which results in pale skin, white hair, and light-colored eyes. Because of the lack of melanin, people with albinism are more sensitive to the sun and are at a higher risk of developing skin cancer.
Despite their unique appearance, people with albinism can live full and active lives. They can participate in most activities that other people can, including dyeing their hair. However, there are some things to keep in mind when dyeing the hair of someone with albinism.
